The Link List 2

The Link List

Another week gone… and we’re into March and Autumn. Just like that!

Its been a juggle of a week with both kids sick and hubby interstate for work. Thank goodness we have a quiet week end coming up. Nippers has now finished which means we finally get a Sunday Sleep In! Well, as much of a sleep in as my2morrows will allow.

I hope your weekend is shaping up well wherever you are. In the meantime, here’s some link love I’ve found around the traps…

  • Its Autumn which means blink and Winter will be upon us. Kinda depressing isn’t it! The only upside… a possible trip to the snow this year and the fact that Winter = leather jacket wearing weather. Check out 6 most affordable leather jackets under $500 from Oracle Fox.
  • I was super excited to be part of Working Mums Collective Monday Motivating Mum series. Sarah started Working Mums Collective for working mums to connect, share stories, celebrate successes and really support and empower each other no matter what journey they are on. Its like a cheer squad for working mums! Thanks lovely Sarah for having me!
  • I first saw this on a local parenting group I belong to. What an awesome hubby! Yep, Miles you really do have a way with words!
  • I’m loving all the grey I’m seeing around the place {not the 50 shades type of grey!}. Pair it with Yellow and oh my gosh. Check out Leanne from Lime & Mortar’s latest Colour Pop. Then go back and check out all of her Colour Pops and tell me how many items are on your shopping list!
  • I can’t for the life of me get the Huz to come to a Yoga class with me and have been talking up the benefits for years. So it was interesting to read this article from Fitstar on why men should do yoga.
So that’s it from me for now.
Have a fab one and enjoy this glorious early Autumn weather.
Have you spotted anything interesting around the interwebs? Do share in the comments below.

Taking Stock- February

Taking stock - February

And just like that, summer is gone. A new month, a new season, a new opportunity to take stock.

Inspired by Pip from Meet Me At Mikes, taking stock is a great way to look back at the month that was, breathe it all in, then move onto the month ahead.

February was such a busy month for us. So much going on! Forget Feb Fast {I would have been a big fat failure at that}, for us it was more like Feb Fest! All those tickets we bought way back when, finally got used and we also had a wedding, a baptism which included a quick trip to Port Macquarie and on top of all that, Miss 5 started school!

So here’s my taking stock February…

Making : This DIY shadow box. I just couldn’t part with Miss 5’s first ballet shoes
Cooking : Baking up freezer friendly muffins and lunchbox snacks.
Drinking : Too much! I really should have done Feb Fast!
Reading: Blogs, blogs and more blogs
Wanting: More hours in the day
Looking: Forward to a couple of upcoming blogger events and meeting some of my bloggy friends in real life
Playing: The school mum. It’s a whole new world!
Deciding: What to wear. Will it be hot or cool? Will be asking this question all Autumn!
Wishing: Dinner times were not so stressful
Enjoying: Family time on weekends. Now that Miss 5 is at school the weekends have become even more precious
Waiting: For our 8 year anniversary. We passed the 7 year itch. Yay us!
Liking: A new photography project I’ve joined. More to come soon…
Wondering: If I should have become a teacher instead of a marketer!?
Loving: My time with Master 3 on the days I don’t work, now that his sister is at school. I forgot how easy grocery shopping with just one kid is!
Pondering: Taking a trip to my home town to see my family
Considering: Buying new black sneakers
Watching: Revenge! It’s back.. Yay!
Hoping: Miss 5 continues the dream run she’s had since starting school.
Marvelling: At just how quickly she’s learning. It really is incredible.
Cringing: At the many measles stories I’ve heard recently. Just immunize people!!
Needing: A massage and a chiro adjustment
Questioning: Where has common sense gone? Blog post coming soon!
Smelling: Chocolate honeycomb I’m about to eat
Wearing: Peter Alexander PJ’s
Following: Working Mum’s Collective. It’s like a cheer squad for working mums!
Noticing: How much worse Peak hour traffic has become in Sydney
Knowing: That there’s more to know. Gotta keep learning!
Thinking: About the families of the Bali 9 ringleaders who are about to be executed.
Admiring: Morning people and wishing I could be one
Sorting: Through paperwork… Bills, school notes. It’s never-ending!
Buying: Actually not much lately. Strange for me but I’m sure it won’t last long.
Getting: Well into the swing of 2015
Bookmarking: these links from Jess on raising boys. Think I’ll need to refer to them as Master 3 seems to have reached the effing fours already!
Coveting: These Yoga pants
Disliking: The morning routine. Or lack of thereof!
Giggling: At My2Morrows. Always laughter in this place
Feeling: Tired. All the time!
Snacking: On a Chocolate Honeycomb. Yum!
Wishing: I could do more yoga classes every week
Helping: Miss 5 learn to read. Such a fascinating process!
Hearing: The Foo Fighters… on high rotation since we went to their concert last week!

So that’s me for Feb!

I’d love to hear from you… Pick a couple of prompts from the list above and tell me how you are taking stock?

I heart music: Workout Playlists

Hi Everyone!

If January is the month of New Years Resolutions, then February must be the month for breaking them.

Time to check in on all those health and fitness resolutions. How are you tracking?

To help you on your way, I thought I’d share my go-to running/workout playlists… the tunes that get me through those gruelling gym sessions, runs, yoga practice or simply help me clean the house.

Workout playlists

Music is an absolute MUST for me when exercising. If I don’t have a mix of fast, sometimes heavy, upbeat, mood boosting tunes right in my ear, I’m just not all that motivated and it all becomes a bit of a chore.

According to my Huz, most of my ‘Run to Paradise’ playlist makes him want to stop living. Yep, he actually said that! Ok, so it may contain some questionable pop tunes and um… wham. But this is a guy who likes to listen to slow songs that tell a story when he runs. He says he likes the distraction. And he also listens to the cricket sometimes… whilst running. Urghh, Snooze! It’s boring enough on TV!

For me, the right song at the right time can inspire me to sprint the last couple of minutes, or get me through that last set. Even if it is daggy 80’s pop or Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift

I also love listening to music during yoga and I’ve been loving the playlist {link below} from Strala Yoga. Tara Stiles is my yoga hero {and girl crush}, a model turned yoga instructor and founder of Strala Yoga in New York City with an awesome approach to yoga, of which music is a big part. She doesn’t follow any particular yoga discipline and focuses purely on its physical aspects and health benefits. Not that I don’t like the traditional and spiritual side of yoga, I actually really love that too, but I do find Tara’s approach quite refreshing.

So, here’s my Run to Paradise playlist and a few others I follow and listen to regularly:

1. Run to Paradise – featuring 46 songs {3 hours} to get you moving!

2. Pop sugar ab workout mix

3. Champagne Cartel Running Songs – The lovely ladies at Champagne Cartel put together this epic, 8 hour playlist. One of my current faves!

4. The Glow’s 20 most popular workout songs right now. About a year old but still a goodie.

5.  Tara’s Strala strong Summer 2013 – Yoga tunes with a difference.

6. And for a bit of girl power, you can’t go past this one, also from PopSugar – Single Ladies playlist.

If these don’t float your boat, try a quick search on Pinterest. There’s a workout playlist for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE! A country music fitness playlist, a Christian workout playlist, a pissed off workout playlist AND even a Disney workout playlist!

I’d love to hear what your fave work out tunes and/or playlists are.

Love Want Need 4

Well…it’s officially the silly season. The Swarovski Christmas tree is up in the QVB building in Sydney, I’ve ordered an Elf on the shelf and Michael Buble can be heard in all his Christmas good-ness in the department stores.

So many gorgeous things are catching my eye lately and my wish list is a little long… with some things managing to sneak off the wish list and into my life. Sshh, don’t tell hubby!

Here’s some of my faves lately. Love Want Need 4…

1. Seduce Radar Dress. $239.95
I’ve been on the hunt for a new frock for a black tie work event but I keep getting blind-sided by gorgeous cocktail style dresses I have no place or occasion to wear. If this one was full length, I’d totally buy it!

2. Luna&Luxe Hello Sunshine Pineapple Candle in your choice of fragrance. Small $50. Large $65. The most divine hand poured candles made in Australia from sustainable soy bean wax, essential oils and natural fragrances. I bought this baby recently in coconut and lime and my house now smells like a Tahitian holiday (well, what I imagine a Tahitian holiday to smell like.)

You can find Luna&Luxe on Facebook and while you are there check out the High Tea and Vintage collection. OMG! Hold me back! They ship or courier Australia wide. Or if you happen to be in Adelaide, catch Lisa at the Wattle Steeet Markets Dec 6th.

3. Christmas Pom Pom Tutu Skirt from Pineapple Traders. $30-$35.
I have such an appreciation for clever people who hand-make things with love. And these Pom Pom Tutu’s are made by hand in Australia by Pineapple Traders. They carry a few in stock ($30) but also make custom colours/sizes to order ($35) from a size 0 up to a size 5. Bigger sizes also possible. Super cute!

4. ModelCo Daily Face Mattifying Sunscreen and Lipbalm SPF50+, $25.
I’ve been a longtime fan of ModelCo. I love their in innovative products and just discovered this gem of a sunscreen. It glides on with a tinted matte finish, no shiny sunscreen face and it has a mirror and lip balm in the lid. Genius!

5. Erin Condren Life Planner Platinum Edition in turquoise, $65.
Outlook is just not cutting it these days. With the kids now doing numerous extra curricular activities and having birthday parties what seems like every freakin weekend, I’ve decided to go old school and just purchased one of these babies! They had me at ‘foil stamped’.  I shall write down every damn THING!

6. Affirmats from Yogamona. $99
Those who know me well know how much I love my yoga. These Affirmats are Eco-friendly and come in a variety of affirmations to keep you inspired, like: Rise and Shine On, Breathe in Love and I am Wonderfully Made, to name just a few. So hard to choose! Namaste.

So what’s on your Christmas Wishlist? Let me know in the comments below.
